Be the first to reach 10 Victory Points (VP) on your turn to win the match and the Crypto Prize Pool .

1. Roll Dice: The number rolled (2-12) produces resources for anyone with a building on that matching hex.
2. Trade: Swap cards with other players, use Ports 2:1/3:1, or with bank 4 cards for 1.
3. Build & Buy: Spend your resources to build Roads, Settlements, Cities, or buy Development Cards.

⚠️ Rolling a 7 (The Robber)

Rolling a 7 pays NO resources. Instead:

Discard: Anyone holding 8 or more cards loses half of them!
Move: The roller moves the Robber to a new hex, blocking it from producing resources.
Steal: The roller steals 1 random card from a player attached to that blocked hex.

⭐ Bonus Victory Points

Longest Road (+2 VP): First player to connect 5 contiguous roads. Can be stolen if someone builds a longer road.
Largest Army (+2 VP): First player to play 3 "Knight" Dev Cards. Can be stolen if someone plays more Knights.

🃏 Development Cards

Play 1 per turn (not on the turn you bought it).

⚔️ Knight: Move Robber & steal 1 card.
🛤️ Road Building: Place 2 free roads.
🎁 Year of Plenty: Take any 2 bank resources.
🧲 Monopoly: Steal all of 1 resource type from all players.

There are multiple strategies to win, but here are some tips:

1. Master the Initial Placement
The setup phase is arguably the most critical part of the game.

Focus on Number Diversity: Try to place your starting settlements on a mix of high-frequency numbers (6, 8, 5, 9) rather than doubling up on the same number.
Prioritize Resource Synergy:
- If you plan to expand quickly, look for spots rich in Wood and Brick.
- If you want to focus on Cities and Development Cards, secure strong Ore and Grain spots.
Look at the Dots: The small dots under the numbers on the tokens represent how statistically likely they are to be rolled (5 dots is the highest, on 6 and 8). Aim for intersections that maximize your total starting dot count.

2. Understand the Two Main Paths to Victory
Generally, successful players lean toward one of two developmental archetypes depending on their starting board:

The Expansion Strategy (Wood/Brick Focus):
- Builds long roads to secure open territory.
- Aims to build all 5 Settlements and secure the Longest Road award.
- Tip: Be careful not to get boxed in. Always ensure you have a clear path to expand.
The Development Strategy (Ore/Grain/Sheep Focus):
- Upgrades starting settlements to Cities quickly to double production.
- Buys Development Cards heavily to find Victory Points and secure Largest Army.
- Tip: This strategy requires fewer total building sites on the board, making it highly effective when the map is crowded.

3. Manage the Robber and Hand Size

Watch the 7-Card Limit: Before building or passing, check your card count. If you have 8 or more cards, you are at risk of losing half of them if a 7 is rolled. It is often safer to make a suboptimal trade or build a road just to get under the safety limit.
Target the Leader: Use the Robber defensively. Block the high-producing tiles of the player currently in the lead, even if they aren't your immediate threat.

4. Trade Dynamically

Avoid "Kingmaking": Be cautious about trading with a player who is close to winning (8 or 9 VPs), even if they are offering a generous deal.
Leverage Ports: If you find yourself producing a massive surplus of a single resource (e.g., plenty of sheep), prioritize building a settlement on the corresponding 2:1 port. This frees you from relying on other players for trades.
